Aluminium Foil-Scrim Tape with rubber-resin adhesive is a high-performance sealing solution designed for building insulation systems. It uses a standard Foil-Scrim-Kraft (FSK) composite substrate, which is coated with a high-performance rubber-resin adhesive and backed with silicone release paper, ensuring excellent sealing performance and durability in demanding environments. It is an ideal choice for sealing joints and seams of Foil-Scrim faced insulation.
The substrate of this tape is composed of a 25-micron-thick aluminum foil laminated with a 5x5 scrim. This unique "Foil-Scrim" structure not only provides the tape with high strength but also imparts excellent tear and puncture resistance, enabling it to withstand certain levels of tension and stress during installation, thereby preventing seal failure due to substrate tearing.
The core adhesive performance is delivered by the rubber-resin adhesive. This adhesive offers high initial tack and strong final bond strength, with excellent wetting and adhesion to various material surfaces, especially FSK facings. Its final adhesion strength reaches 20 N/25mm, ensuring a firm and durable seal with the foil surface of insulation materials, effectively blocking the penetration of air and moisture.
In terms of mechanical properties, this tape demonstrates exceptional tensile strength, up to 120 N/25mm, indicating extremely high intrinsic strength and resistance to breakage under tension. Meanwhile, its elongation at break is 3.0%, reflecting high rigidity and low elasticity, allowing it to maintain dimensional stability under stress. This makes it particularly suitable for applications requiring high-strength sealing with minimal deformation.
Considering its physical attributes, the total thickness of this tape is 90 microns, providing robust protection while maintaining good flexibility and ease of application. Its service temperature range is from -20°C to +80°C, allowing it to adapt to most high and low-temperature variations in building environments, ensuring consistent performance under extreme cold or heat. In summary, it is a critical material for ensuring the airtightness and integrity of foil-faced insulation systems.
