Flame-Retardant Grade Cold Weather Aluminum Foil Tape is a high-performance product composed of three key layers. The backing consists of a 30-micron thick high tensile strength aluminum foil, providing a robust base layer. The adhesive is a special flame-retardant cold weather solvent acrylic, endowing the product with exceptional fire resistance and bonding properties. The total thickness is 70 microns, and it is protected by a silicone release paper, ensuring the integrity and cleanliness of the adhesive before application.
This tape exhibits outstanding mechanical strength, with a tensile strength of up to 45 N/25mm, ensuring resistance to breakage under tension. Simultaneously, It exhibits strong adhesion of 15 N/25mm, enabling a secure bond, and an elongation at break of 3.0%, indicating high toughness with limited stretch. The product offers an extremely wide service temperature range, capable of long-term stable performance in harsh environments from -35°C to +120°C, meeting the demands of various complex working conditions with both cold and heat resistance.
The core advantage of this tape lies in its advanced flame-retardant properties, with excellent fire ratings certified by international safety standards such as UL 723 and BS 476 Parts 6 & 7. The aluminum foil backing not only effectively reflects heat and light but also features very low moisture vapor transmission rate, providing outstanding sealing, moisture barrier, and patching capabilities. Its cold-resistant adhesive ensures maintained tackiness in low-temperature environments, and the product offers good aging resistance for both indoor and outdoor use, ensuring a long service life.
It is widely used in the HVAC industry, specifically for connecting and sealing the seams of foil-scrim-kraft (FSK) faced laminated fiberglass blankets and duct board, as well as the seams and connections of flexible air ducts. Furthermore, it is a versatile industrial tape highly suitable for general-purpose fastening, patching, sealing and masking applications, reliably performing in both indoor and outdoor environments.
For optimal bonding results, application is recommended at ambient temperatures between +10°C and +40°C. The tape should be applied to a clean, dry surface with adequate pressure to ensure full contact. Proper storage is crucial for maintaining product performance. It should be stored at 21°C and 50% relative humidity, away from direct sunlight, under which conditions its shelf life can reach 12 months.
